now im in Sitiawan, Malaysia.
Boring life over here.

For example, most of our guys are in NS now~ it's kind of sad, because outings are so much harder to organise! TT And some of our lovely girls are back in their home countries... TT

But it's ok! We're an international council! So that makes us more zai! xD

Almost everyone else is working~ one step closer to independence! But it makes outings so few and rare :( Our next big event is the 2nd year ANNIVERSARY! Let's all try hard to make it ok, guys, don't make government angry ok.

We should take advantage of weekends too! There're so many things I wanna do with 31st! Cycling, Ice-skating, Wild Wild Wet, Universal Studios... THE WORLD! Yeah!

anyway.jus wanted to let all of u noe how much u all hav helped me and made me learn in the time i was in council.i guess i sorta nvr expected tt i will feel sad when its time for me to leave council.but like everyone else i felt very upset as i guess some of u would noe(:i've been wanting to thank u all for a very long time but nvr really had a chance so decided tt this would be a gd place!(:hope at least a few of u will read this(:

i guess many of u all will see me as anti-social and would probably be unhappy at the thought of working with me.i think many would feel tt i was nvr a part of u all and nvr made an effort to be.thinking back i regret not having been a better person and member. i think i tried my best in the end but jus when i was giving it my best i lost u all.tt time,i was really really upset.like i told mr s i feel like i hav taken u all for granted.and nvr really got to tell u all how much u all mean to me and the impact u hav all had on me.all of u helped me in a different way and im glad to hav known all of u special ppl!(:

heres a few things i shall mention first(:wanted to talk about each of u individually but i think it'll take a super long time.so i shall jus state a few(; i remember all those instances when u all were there for me and helped me when no one else did.i will forever be grateful to Jamie who showed her concern when i was really upset and who cared for us all so so much!i remember after ltc when she told me how she was proud of me during the camp.it really made me feel happy to be able to live up to council and when the exco gave the laminated shirt i felt so grateful tt u all still accepted me as one of u all even though i was alr out of council and was nvr truly an active member.and there was qing wei and ying chen who had to bare with all my weaknesses which made them upset at times and disappointed in many ways.i will forever be grateful for their understanding,caring-ness and help.and my other comm members,clarence who was always trying to help and who also gave constructive criticism,although it made me feel guilty and bad,the truth of it also helped me learn and made me perform better,chun leong who was always ready to help and yue'an who taught me wat it meant to be a gd assistant head.from her,i learnt to ask ppl if they needed help instead of waiting for them to ask.yida whos always cheerful,tried his best and showed his concern for everyone.

all of u taught me many things and was there for me in many ways(:even though i only mentioned cc and jamie,everyone else has oso impacted me in many ways(:i hope at the end i was much better and someone who has grown and is able to live up to all of u(:ALL THE BEST FOR As!(:

We had so much fun yesterday! From telematch to volleyball to bridging to suntanning to playing in the water to soccer matches to camwhoring! Im missing those times already!

Big thankyou to Yida & Qingwei for organising this outing!!!
And to everyone else for contributing the snacks & drinks & sandwiches!

It was great to see all 26 of us together again! Its been around 2 months since we've stepped down. The feeling of having nothing to do at all was simply weird. All we were supposed to do, all we had to do, was study. Which kinda............made life abit..........ZZZ. But yesterday! The feeling of everyone coming back together simply rocked.

Its amazing how we can still come together, have fun & things can still remain the same - probably even better. It feels like home; feels like we're back where we belong, with the right company. But that's probably cos we're 31st. And that will never change. ♥

It seemed just like yesterday, when we were all in drenched in sweat, ushering, shifting chairs, and all sorts of decorations so that investiture 2008 would be a success.

We sat there, on the right side of the hall. Above us, the boards listing the College's SMC names high above us, around us, the then 5 college values hung around us. As we wore the blazers for the first official time, as due to time constraint, we could not have our badges pinned on by our seniors, but we could only receive it.

As we stood up for the first time as the 31st student council, as we raised our hands, and recited the council pledge, as we looked down from the stage, and saw ny councils past and present, all standing, acknowledging the swearing in of a new batch of councillors, a new batch of leaders.

Then, as we ran around in the Alumni Room, enjoying the pool table, the air con there, the logistics stinking up the whole room. And we stayed there, and sang Jenny among many others after Teachers Day, after a drizzle cancelled the ACES day.

Then, as we went about hanging up threads hanging various paper stars with glitter on them, as we prepared the Harry Potter themed Post LTC. As we enjoyed the food, and the atmosphere, and chatted with friends long past.

Then came the time where we had to sit in during lectures, and listen to those that we have heard ages before, as we chionged down from the room we have called our little hiding place, or little home, to the hall, just to hear that our very own 31st mass dance has been delegated to a mere 5 minutes time filler. And as we saw and heard and laughed, as our very own actors and actresses brought the scene of madagascar alive.

Then came the time, where the 31st mass dance went into full swing, as we played with water, as we had to rescue a man from a deep drain, as we went about going crazy with our crazy lights, our crazy songs, our crazy dances.

Then as if possessed, a 180 degree swap occured for all of us. As we suddenly screamed and shouted, and scolded the next batch of nominees, just like how we were treated 1 year ago. As we hiked up to Macritche, as we prayed for the rain to stop for campfire but yet failed, as we all went to Macs to have our lunch, before going home and applying mushroom's ulti skill.

And now,

We have sat below the names of Past Council Presidents
We have sat below where we saw the people we taught and trained finally passing the first step
Where we with tear rimmed eyes, unbuckled the badge which we have worn with pride, dignity, and honour, and pinned it on to our successors
Where with much reluctance, with much perseverance, we stood in front of the college for the last time as one, holding back all our emotions, holding back all the tears
Where in 2 lines, we left the stage,
where we took the long aisle walk
where we exited through those rear doors,
and entered once more, as no more then an audience

Where now, we stood,
as we saw the people whom we have passed on our duties and responsibilities to taking the oath that we did ourselves just 1 year ago
as we recapped, some precious moments, in the past 1 year with a short video clip
where we handed out gifts to one another, so that we would always remember this day, these people, this love that we share

And finally, it all came to an end.

As we watched our banner finally coming down
As we watched it being folded
As we brought it over to the next room
slotted it in above our orientation banner
and the door was locked

It is now no more than a memory
It is now no more than a wishful thinking

But it is now where the memory lives on
where the love continues to flow
where the bond that we share grow stronger
where we will never forget
and never give up
the one thing in which we had put in effort to set up

the one thing to hang up high and free
where it flaps with the winds, as people look up in pride and awe

The one thing, that is none other than

the 31st student council

Today, Investiture 09.
Looking at the chairs, Im reminded of ours last year.

Today, I was afraid. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to finish my speech.
But I did, in the end. Throughout the whole speech, vivid memories came fleeting into my mind. I thought about 31st the whole time.

Today, watching you all hand over the badges, I was so, so very proud of every single one of you. Im reminded of how we received our badges last year. And now, as we hand over, I can see the pride you all take in that badge of ours.

Today, we bid goodbye to our council room.
Our home.

I'll miss this road.

After school, when we walk up either from canteen, or by hall, or by wherever.
It doesn't matter cos we're all headed the same direction.

Was talking to someone today, and he said I should write my speech in the book. Since its too late to write now, I shall just post the part to 31st up here.

"And now, to the 31^st Student Council:
Words can probably never express what exactly I feel towards all of you, but I’m going to try somehow so please do bear with me.

Knowing you is the best thing that ever happened to me, in Nanyang Junior College. Being with you has made up the happiest moments in my life. Being able to experience all of these with you makes everything worthwhile.

Thank you, for giving me this chance to be able to be your President, to lead and bring all of you to great heights. There can never be another batch I’d rather work with, than all 25 of you. In about a few more minutes, we would be handing over to the next batch, and that would officially signify the end of our council term.

We have indeed grown. From people who were strangers just thrown together, ignorant of what life has in store for us, we have become a closely knit family, one that we call our own.

Think about investiture 2008, about teachers’ day, JC Immersion Prog, our very own Orientation, and council camp. Think about the horrendous amounts of proposals, protocols, recce trips and preparations. Think about the times we went crazy cheering and supporting our schoolmates, and the times we randomly danced our very own 31^st mass dance and of course,Hot&Cold. Think about the moments we’ve shared together – running around in school, getting things done, moments in OPs room, in container classroom1, and in our beloved council room. Think back to the past year, and keep these memories with you, in your heart.

In 31^st, I’ve found more than just friends. I’ve found people I want to protect, people I want to keep with me for as long as I can. The friendship, the love, the wonderful bond and the countless of memories we have, will keep us together, forever.

I used to believe that the word forever, was like a fairytale, something that would never come true. I believed in that, till I met you.

From time to time, I always asked myself “What have I done, to deserve such a wonderful bunch of people, to be together with me, to be fighting alongside me, to be sharing every single moment with me.”

Thank you, 31^st.

For giving me my best memories and for being my best memories.

I hope that for all the years to come, we will always remember the motto we have undertaken and stuck to, the motto that brought us all this far. Always remember:

Be the Best That You Can Be, No More, No Less, No Excuses.

And before I end this speech, I would like to once again and for the very last time, proudly proclaim that we are the 31^st Student Council, where the love never dies.

Yeap, I've been waiting for today since yesterday night to post this on our blog!

The moment we've all been talking about, thinking much is arriving very very soon.

It's already 20th April my dears!

Hmm suddenly I'm at loss for words. Not emo-ing, I swear (: I'm just trying to figure out what to really write here (:

Well I think we know that some of us, if not all, have been struggling with certain things.

Personal, studies, council, family, ...

Please just remember as much as you can, that we are still here.

Solid. firm. And very real (: Still here :D

I've already found what 20th May 2o09 will be like for me.

I think I've sorted it out myself how it would feel like on that day, eventhough i still can't say for sure -_-

Hahaha I guess this coming one month would be a quick one, more of a hastle-y + crazy one.

A final badge-y one!

Ugh I really dont know what i'm talking about already.

Am tired and sleepy, but can't bring myself to sleep with the history thesis to finish,

& with my head full with thoughts about us.

I keep repeating this, but i think it's important to know.

To me, as important as the council itself is,

The people matter more than anything to me.

You can make everyday Orientation 2009, Council camp 2009, Investiture 2008 or even TDA 2008.

Let me go through all the planning, heartaches, happiness, teamwork, pride, satisfaction, desperation, madness, rush. Everything over again.

But I dont see why re-living all that if it's not for the people.

So i was reading through the tags at the tagboard on our official website, and i saw this tag by a j1 who was asking about elections and all. And that made me think, oh yea, elections was one of the earlier times we spent together, and it was really really really fun (: (: (: Somehow i also feel that it's a little 'forgotten' now 'cause it seems so long ago rite? (:

Well, have no fear, for RJ is here!!! :D

I wanted to this since last Sunday, so please allow me to spam here okay (: Wanted to write about elections and all, but I think let's start from the basic basic basic-y thing (: How we first met or talked etc etc.... (:

Bio has occupied majority of my brain capacity, so if i didnt recall the facts properly, feel free to post another post to talk about it (: hhahahhahahha :D :D :D

(NOTE: this is not in order of preference... just random name-picking ^^)

1. Jamie:
I first saw Jamie because she was in the Communications Comm for Internship. We didn't really talk until we signed up for OGL during Orientation2. Because of the Olympian IC thing, we talked (: We even had a photo together! (:That was our first step towards common narcissm (:

Her first words: Hi! Let's take a picture together! (in front of the guys' toilet =.=''')

2. Li Lan:
I feel that.... I know Lannie 'cause of the pre-Olevels result day (: Hahahhaa, April, Jul, Yan Zhen and I skipped school that day because the Olevels result would be released the following day and we just wanted to spend our perfect last day of our perfect PAE together (: Went to AMK Hub to watch PS: I love you. And maybe when we entered the cinema, we noticed some other NYJC-ians sitting in some rows in front of us? And maybe I didnt know Li Lan was there too?

So after the sad sad movie, we went to the toilet, and that was when I first saw Li Lan. Noticed her in school, but never talked, never had eye contact. (: So i appreciated the first time we looked each others' way in the toilet and i smiled to her (: (: (: Hahhaha You guys should hear what she's got to say about the smile (: (: (: Anyway, after that during JAE, i had to transfer from CT 0806 to 0801 (my current CT ^^) due to subject combinations problem... and Li Lan was there! She made me feel not so lost and more at ease with the other classmates! (:

Her first words: Hey! RJ rite? You're in 0801? Yo! (:

(sorry Chris, had to cover your face with the cutie smile ^^ cause we dont know if you'd like it if your face is up here ><) And for the following pictures meant for spamming... most of them were taken during the orientation period. Needless to say, she's the more photogenic one (: AND MY EYES ARE RED I swear i look so scary >

3. April Hahahhaa... needless to say, I know her through Welfare Comm Internship Programme (: Something funny about how we first contacted each other. She was the Welco Intern IC at that point of time (now too huh ^^) and she was supposed to sms us to meet up for a meeting. And so she smsed me one night to inform me about the meeting. So silly RJ thought she was a J2 and i was super polite :p ahhahahha and then she started talking about some random things... Then we met up the next day after my Geylang Rainbow Paiting project... and i still thought she was a J2 councilor.... and then she asked me," I look so old!??!?!?" Hahahah in case you think it doesnt sound like April, that's because I've deleted her 'meh' slang from the sentence (: It was "I looked so old meh!??!?!?" hahahhaha :D :D :D Her first words: (was in sms) Are you a fan of Super Junior too?!??! (: (: Hahhahah

Hahahaha... you know what? I feel super tired already hahahah (: Can i like post the rest soon? (: (: (: Dont worry every one will be mentioned! (: If i do 3 everyday, ill need 10 days in total! Hey guys! This is the first time I'm posting! So appreciate it! ~~Well, I just got back from school after studying in you-know-where. That's beside the point.~~

THE POINT IS, despite what happened or what is about to happen (block test) I believe that we should have little fun at times. XDSo RJ and I have a mini project! Take-a-picture-a-day! Lol. major random-ness. Even though its not something huge and grand, this little thing makes our days more fun. we can also compile the pictures when we leave the school! :) me and jj forever!!!<3

Anyways, as one 31st, we can still make a lot of wonderful memories! there's council camp, investiture. But it won't stop just there right? We'll still be together as one! Perhaps its because of our small number thats why we're so close? I'm really proud to be in 31st and proud to be a part in the activities that we planned for the school. Proud to be able to know all of you wonderful people.

So despite the dreaded incoming block test which is out to destroy my emotional and psycological well-being, I shall wish you guys the best of luck.

Like what Mrs Queenie Wong said.. "Study like you've never studied before!" but dont be too stressed out! If you are, just.... just.... I dno! DE-STRESS LIKE YOU'VE ALWAYS DE-STRESS-ED BEFORE! LOL.

I should already be in bed, all tucked up and asleep.

But I think apart from Stevenn (who I know is already sleeping), most 31st are still awake, whether from being super excited about tomorrow (like Jamie), anxiety, nervous-ness, or any other possible reasons that might be keeping them awake (:

Myself, for example, is still 'suffering' from panic attacks.

Haha Mushroom was so funny (: We were chatting on gmail and when he heard about my panic attacks, he was like "Panic attacks? You okay? O.o" Hahhahaha (:

Panic attacks, in my own terms, happen when I get super nervous and excited about certain things. Well, orientation 2009 definitely isn't just 'certain things' to me... it's QUITE SOME THING!!! (:

And thanks Chan for that random powerpoint slides Hahahaha (: I agree with April, you are getting badly influenced (:

Anyway, I was really about to sleep when I realise that no 31st has yet to post something a day before Orientation, and I really don't want to forget any feelings of this sort, so tadaa!! (:

Here I am! (;

Really am very very very very super nervous about tomorrow. Everything.

For the ad hoc, 31st, the ogls, game masters, J1s, studies, etc etc... I feel like there're so many things that I need to focus on now, and yet there's nothing that feels real enough in my reach.

YET THIS IS NO EMO TIME!!!!! :D

Just like what Kuang Wen and Louis said, we must enjoy ourselves and have fun in order to let the j1s have the same enjoyment! (:

It is true, only when we are truly committed and happy doing certain things can we convince others to indulge in doing the same (:

So ALL THE WAY till then end of orientation, I'm going to focus on nothing else but ORIENTATION!!! :D GO GO GO!!! (Well, buffer time for studies and rest too! )

In the afternoon, helped some OGLs call the juniors, then practised mass dance with those in my hostel again (: They looked really enthusiastic and happy, and that's the spirit yo! (:

Stayed up to read Fu's protocol and also prepare the expenditure report for the 'chocolaties' event, and felt that the orientation ad hoc people are undergoing a lot of stress. go go go OA and 31st! (: Dont have to get all stressed out! (: 'Tis the day to enjoy our fruits of labor (:

Let's mentally prepare ourselves before we sleep later, then think of nothing else (:

Let's all work together, for the better and better of Orientation 2009! (:

Just wanna blog this to share with you guys!
Today when Zhiyuan, Stevenn, Mingwei and I walked back to school with all the logist from Serangoon Central, we met Mr.Jonathan Ng! Had this real real short convo with him which really motivated me...somehow. It goes like this:

Us: Hello Mr.Ng
MrNg: Hello, preparing for orientation ya? This week is going to be very xiong!
Us: Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
MrNg: Well hang in there! This is going to be the best moments in your life.
-at that moment I was like uhhhhhhhhh-
MrNg: Just as long as you all stay together as one council, can already.
Me: -stun- Thanks!

Hahahahaha. Okay I know its lame, short, random. Blabla.
But still, it spurred me on somehow.
Just thought of sharing this with you guys.

Every morning we see tired faces in school,
With stiffled yawns and sleepy eyes.
As time passes, along the day,
Our mind drifts away, as others say.

There was no prior agreement, nothing said.
Looking at our faces, our very smiles, we know what we've gained.
We gained precious memories, one we can never forget.
We gained moments spent together, even if they're mad.

Today sure was a tiring day, eh? (:

It's the first day for the J1s in our school, finally! And I think we all did quite a good job ushering and seating them in the hall, then bring them around the school.

And all these we've done without exceeding the time limit. That's good (:

And thank you HOUSE EXCO for all the help too!! (:

Really happy that we can work together, and I really think we can work well with each other :D

Let's get the J1s enthu together! (: Hahahaha :D

Although it was only a short period of time, say, about 3 and a half hours, we were already so tired. Think about next week, when we'll be having our Orientation.

Gosh, that would even exhaust us to the max! O.o

So guys, let's all start training and mentally + physically prepare ourselves for the 'battle' next week! (: It'll be a glorious and victorious one (:

We must be so strong that nothing can disturb our peace of mind or disrupt our momentum.

We need to have that mentality that come what may next week, we will be so strong physically and united mentally, that we share the same aspirations and hard work to make Orientation 2009 one of the best that we could produce, for our fellow juniors (:

Let us perspire the same sweat, let us shed the same tears, and let us share the same wide smiles on our faces during Orientation! (:

Whatever effort will not go to waste! :D

I was talking to stevenn just now on our way out of the school at 10pm today.

We both thought that at the end of Orientation, as long as we've reached our main objectives,

as long as everyone had fun and fun and MORE fun,

as long as we've all reached our own expectations as to how we want Orientation to be,

it will be the BEST for us :D

This is my first time writing down something on this bloggie, and that's because it's our eighth month anniversary! :D

And I think I'm the only few people who are quite free now, considering that others are really busy preparing for alot of things (:

Dear 31st, look at how time flies.

I still find it unbelievingly fast, now that it's already our 8th month working together.

Together, we have achieved and went through so much!

I still find that council is a bitter-sweet thing.

There are the happier times and the worse moments;

there are the super tiring times and of course, the retreat-mode-y moments;

sometimes we are super driven, high, enthu, and it's impossible to not let us do anything, and there are also times when we feel so exhausted that we simply hope we dont have to do anything at all.

We quarreled, we cried, we were angry.

But we still forgive, forget, embrace, cherish, care, and love one another.

I believed that without any of these, council isn't council.

Just the same towards the people. Without any of you, 31st isnt 31st.

Perhaps I should alter a lil of Mr. Tan's motto:

"Just be yourself; who you already are. No more, no less, no substitutes." :D

Haha! (:

Anyway, Lilan and I played a small prank yesterday. It came to us out of the blue, and i swear, we did it only out of mischief, but we never thought how far it went.

And for that, we sincerely, and regrettably apologize. We're sorry guys :p

I've always wanted to do this since the end of JIPA, but never had the chance to do so.

Though the dynamics among 31st have changed a little, and i wonder if we still remember the feelings and thoughts we had last year, the first time when we wore our council badges?

How if felt like when we were up on stage, taking the council oath while being watched by our fellow peers?

What were the things we were thinking about, how were we as one 31st then?

All I could remember when we were up on stage was that our hands must be placed on our laps, right leg to be put behind the left leg while sitting straight, and Mr. Tan's words that we must take pride in being a councilor while we take the Council Oath. (:

Seems just like yesterday, no? (:

As much as the past shall remain as the past,

We have all grown, changed, and developed in many ways. We not only know ourselves better, we understand each other well.

The working styles, un-glam moments, personalities, strengths + weaknesses, favourite food, etc etc of each other.

Never thought that a girl who looks so tough on the outside is actually afraid of the un-seeable (the supernaturals, during COuncil camp last year ^^)?

Never realised that a guy so well-built is actually afraid of height? (hahah his name starts with a 'R' and ends with a 'Y' LOL that happened at LTC)

And never thought how far we can actually go for each other if we really want to? (:

Dear 31st,

We are all like a family.

We have been together for almost a year now, we already share a special connection that is so intangible and i trust, unbreakable.

Perhaps at times we got so used to each other that we ceased to let one another know how much we actually cherish and appreciate them. Why not now?

Perhaps we've had some miscommunications in the past, some personal misunderstandings that could be easily forgiven and forgotten. Why not now?

Perhaps some things we have made complicated can be just so easily simplified. Why not now?

I've tried to embed a "2 in 1" song, I trust all of you are familiar with it.

The first one's "Endless Story". If you recall, it's our investiture song, which I've just played this evening in the school hall. This whole journey, really is our endless story (:

The next one's entitled "Musician". Both Lilan and I played the song. In fact, it's an unfinished one; on our one-year anniversary, Lilan would complete the whole song for us, so let's all wait for her, okay? (:

We hope not only that you'll spend some time today to think through our whole journey thus far, but also keep showing care and concern for each other! (: We shan't hurt one another okay! (:

Guys it's really going to be tough these few months to come, but i really really believe that as a whole 31st, we can overcome anything! And i really think EVERYTHING! :D

I always feel very assured when I'm around you guys (: I feel like no evil in this world could possibly come to me, because I know that no one here is left out, and that's what we're gonna keep doing, arent we? We will protect one another, never do anything that hurts each other, and help one another out :D

No reasons for it; simply because we are really one family! (:

The Butter Factory is the new generation Hip Hop / R & B club. The brainchild of 4 passionate partiers who know how to play hard & work just as hard, The Butter Factory is all about letting loose, being comfortable with who you are and having too much fun! Hello!

Council Retreat has just ended!
How time flies, right?

I hope most of you have found the retreat meaningful & have learnt much from it.
Most importantly, I hope that you all had fun during the retreat!

For me, the fun part comes with being able to be with every single one of you!
Waking up to faces of beloved 31st, cooking together, eating together, etc!

I don't know what got into me that led to my emotional outburst today!
But I just want to take this chance here to say that I really meant what I said at retreat.

I'm happy to be part of 31st & even happier that each one of you are part of 31st.
When I feel lost, frustrated, helpless, I'd turn to 31st.
Seeing the smiles on your faces spurs me on.
Listening to words of encouragement from all of you makes me carry on.
Most importantly, seeing everyone together makes me smile.

I'm glad that I managed to say what I truly felt today during that session.
I hope that retreat had been an enjoyable experience for most of you.

& I really love 31st.

on a side note, I really hope that everyone can take care of yourself, now like got cough bug, one by one all kenna. then that time rashes bug also one by one kenna (okay lah this one must blame the dirty water...). Report on PJC investiture!

PJC investiture was a blast!

Such a wonderous experience to get to visit PJC for investiture!

Their theme is "Eco, Voz, Coro", which stands for Echo, voice, chorus.

It has a great meaning as Echo is just a loud noise created by a group people, but each person could put their voice into one, they can form a wonderful chorus! Signifying teamwork and individual's uniqueness at the same time!

Pynx, Zhen Hao and me were greeted warmly by their 8th and 9th councillors at their Patio(sorta like entrance), signed on their guestlist and got our souvenir!

We were quickly ushered to their iggest lecture threatre, LT4 and sat comfortably down at their seats.

We were shown video of the various events in PJC during our wait, so we got a inside look of PJC's activity.

Within a short while, their investiture has started!

A humourous yet inspiration were given by their GOH which proves to be witty yet self-discovering.

Videos of the 8th council memories were shown which proved their council journey had been a very fun time with the time spent with each other.

Next is their handover ceremony and their council song!

Yep, council song, their previous batch of council had composed two songs to pass on to their next generation.

The council sounded so meaningful even towards us, councillors of other school which shown a lot of similarity between us.

Their handover ceremony had a interesting backdrop. As the 8th council pin their council collar pin to their juniors, they also pass a piece of picture to them. Next, the 9th council will go the back of the stage one by one, pasting their piece of picture onto the backdrop, eventually forming a giantic picture of their 9th council.

After the investiture, we had a tour around their campus. Thanks to our really profession tourguides, Tak and MingYao, we had a eye opener towards other school.

For each part of their campus, it was given a name.

library was referred as The Window, General Office as The Helm, Staff office as The Pulse.

Each council had a space n school to leave their legacy behind. For example, the 1st council of PJC had left behind the Patio, a place created by them.

If I remembered correctly, there's a place called Sanctuary, at the top of their school hall, where the AVA room is. Sanctuary is place for students to relax in PJC, a legacy left behind by 2nd council.

Insides were sofas and study table, it can be used for student's relaxtion as well as doing their homework! It is air-conditioned too! At the end of Sanctuary(it's quite big), they had a counter where they sell PJC mechanise such as PJC jacket, or orientation towels, shirt etc.

Outside the Sanctuary is a pool table which students can rent it for a tiny fee an hour.

There were a lot of unused space in the compound, the spaces are still to be explored for more use and to be used for the next councils to develop their legacy!

Bidding farewell to our handsome and chatty tourguides, we left PJC with a smile oon our faces~!

This shall be my first contribution to the blog here.

Mid Years are over, LTC is also over. But, our council journey as the 31st do not end here. I hope that everyone here will be able to keep each other close by, and we shall get through it together as one council. From what i see, some of us are feeling kinda down, but be assured, that i believe that everyone will be there for you. If you need a listening ear, you can find me, and i believe everyone else will be as willing to listen to you to.

Remember, we are one 31st, one council. Lets hold on together, and make this journey a spectacular one!

for all the things we have been thru, in particular the first ever major event - Investiture, i believe we all had different kind of experience. and this experience is sumting that will be left deep in us. MEANING, 1adhoc done, a few more to go and then when we noe it, our term is gonna be over le.

i hope you guys realise that we do not hav much time in JC, and with so much things to achieve in such a short time, there will be times where tiny little misunderstandings, conflicts & problems are bound to happen. its just normal. BUT, always bear this in mind -

MISUNDERSTANDINGS are somethings that can be UNDERSTOOD
if you bother to find out more.
CONFLICTS are when you learn to GIVE and TAKE.
PROBLEMS are issues that you can DEFINITELY SOLVE.

a photo i have taken quite sometime ago. there are two paths - a green and even path that leads to the end BUT is blocked by trees along the way, the other is a rocky, uneven path that clearly leads you to the end.

which path are you gonna choose?
in anycase, it doesnt matter, cos both leads to the end, however, DO REMEMBER, do not regret the path you have chosen - both for YOURSELF and for THE ENTIRE 31st.

to add on to what our dear Jamie had said,
lets RIDE THE WAVE TOGETHER,
no matter how stormy the weather may be,
how much effort we have to put in to steer this 31 vessel,
the 29 of us will definitely make it thru =D

Still remember the meaning of our theme?

Still remember the times we stayed back late for our different committee stuffs?

Exco rushing proposals & meeting teachers, CIB doing gifts & prog booklets, Welco doing banner, CC doing invitation cards & ushering routes.

Still remember our rehearsals?

Especially the full dress one where we stayed till very late cos we had to attend the talk. I remember leaving school at 11.15pm that day cos exco had mini meeting with teachers.

Today's 20th June.

It has been one month since we have been invested.

In this past month, I think I've learnt alot both as a student & a councillor. What about you?

Today's our one month.

& We have manymany more days & months & even years to come.

After midyears, we continue our journey.

We've to be strong, united, & stay together as one so as to overcome any obstacles that we will face.

After midyears, you'll get into adhoc plannings & get to really plan your own events. Embrace those times like its the last time you'll be doing it. Take the stage cos its yours. Perform well cos everyone's looking. & Most importantly, learn & enjoy the process cos thats what truly matters.

Today's 20th June 2008.

Soon, it'll be 20th May 2009.

Cherish every single second you have with each & every 31st. Cos our council journey will soon be over. Put in everything that you've got. & Remember the motto we love so very much;

Is the councillor badge SHINING AS BRIGHT AS it is meant to be? how much does the OATH meant to you? Are you ready to light up the dark and blurry path ahead of you? Are you ready to sacrifice every single thing of you JUST for 31st and the college? THINK HARD. You dont have to answer those questions to anyone, BUT, YOURSELF. The day we pin on the Councillor badge (21 May 08, 7.34am), the heart of 31st STARTS beating... i hope this beat will never die down during our term as the 31st.. the beat shall only be LOUDER and REVERBERATE the ENTIRE NYJC! (The heartbeat of the 31st will never stop beating, even after we step down!) I know its the start of a new chapter in your life. A new blank page. How are you going to fill up this page, depends on you! I wanna thank the EXCO for taking up the challenge to steer the boat and also the REST OF THE 31st for taking up the challenge to MOVE THE BOAT! JIA YOU 31st! No one will move the boat by himself... the 29 of us will MOVE THE BOAT TOGETHER! No one shall be left out cos 31st WILL NEVER BE COMPLETE without the 29 of us!
